An eco-friendly new build in South West France
My Eco-Maison follows the story of my decision to purchase a plot of land in South West France and build a small eco-friendly house. I’ll share with you the process by which I bought the land, planned and executed the build and finally how I plan to finish the house turning it into a home I can look forward to spending my summers.
I will also also share the reasons why I chose to build an eco-friendly home and the benefits I believe are derived from making this choice.
Building work began at the end of April 2019, so you can follow the progress made since then. Unfortunately, the COVID era & various travel restrictions have somewhat delayed progress (3 summers missed in France) with completion of the project unlikely until Summer 2026.
